You may want to make sure that the sound associated with that app is the one
you want.
I had something similar happen where Notifications said that sounds were on for
a given ap, but when I double tapped on that and looked for the sound that was
selected, it had switch to none.

I hope it is something like that.

Subject: sounds with notifications have gone silent

It seems that I am no longer getting sounds with notifications. For instance, I
used to get a tone with a notification that would come from Amazon about the
shipment. I get the notification, but if I’m not right next to my phone and
don’t hear the screen open and the time be announced, I have no way of knowing
the notification came. The same is true for things left in the messages app,
such as messages from a doctor or whomever. Or voice messages If I miss a phone
call. I checked in notifications in settings, and the apps have sounds enabled.
So I am at something of a loss as to why I’m not getting the sounds. Any ideas?
