Hi, This is great news. I passed it along on my Alexa group. The Dot to Dot Podcast is very popular with the members over there.
Merv For all things Echo: main+subscr...@echoing.groups.io <mailto:main+subscr...@echoing.groups.io> From: viphone@googlegroups.com <viphone@googlegroups.com> On Behalf Of Robin Christopherson Sent: Thursday, April 18, 2019 6:37 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Call for listener contributions Dear listers You may know of the daily 'Dot to Dot' podcast on all things Alexa. You can obviously also access the skills and features we cover using the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone or tablet, and many of our listeners do do this and even send in demos of skills using the app on their smartphones instead of the A-lady herself. We’re over 800 episodes now and, if you’d like to know what she can do, then please consider subscribing through your favourite podcatching app, or else you could use the Alexa app on your phone or just ask any smartspeaker to “Play the Dot to Dot podcast” (you may need to speak clearly as I’m afraid it’s not the best name for asking for by voice). It’s also available as a daily flash briefing if you ask Alexa to “Add the daily five minute skill demo show to my flash briefing.” I hope this isn’t off-topic here, but, as I say, you can access the vast majority of her skills through your phone, and you can’t get a more massively appropriate and helpful tech for the blind than a smartspeaker. While I’ve got you, I’d dearly love more listener voices for extra variety. We have brilliant stalwart contributors but I’m always after fresh blood *smile* So if you’d like to do a demo, or if you're not sure how to go about it,, or if you’d like suggestions for skills to cover, please drop me a line off-list to robin.christopher...@gmail.com <mailto:robin.christopher...@gmail.com> . If you’re already a listener and wouldn’t mind taking a few minutes to review it in iTunes (search for "Dot to Dot") or the Alexa skillstore (search for "The Daily 5 Minute Skill Demo Show") then I’d really appreciate it. You can also follow on Twitter using the hashtag #DTDPod where I often tweet new episodes, so a retweet from time to time there would also really help. I really appreciate any help you can give to get the message out. As you probs know, it isn’t a vision-impairment-focused show - the Echo is just perfect for us but obviously not just for us - so please don’t feel that you need to limit any shout outs to your VI friends or groups etc. A daily podcast is a bit of an undertaking and seeing listener numbers rise is all the incentive I need to keep it going for many moons to come.
