Hello Jim, If you got an iPHone 7 right after they came out, you've had it for 2 and a half years or so. It's not at all surprising if the battery is starting to fail. Replacing a battery is a lot cheaper than replacing a phone. I have no idea about the speaker sound. You might want to take it to an Apple store and get it checked out.
