Uh umm...A good ole hard copy dictionary will do exactly what you want. & while searching for a word or two, the kids will learn a few things that have been tossed away with the invention of laptops & smartphones...What you ask? Well, how words are alphabetically listed. The part of speech a word derives from. The orgin of words & example sentences on how the word(s) is used in a sentence. & hopefully, the use of a dictionary will spark their interest & curiosity & they will look up other words to use. & who knows...your kids may think that you are a fuddy duddy for suggesting that a dictionary be used in place of a electronic device.
