I am also interested in this, it baffles me how Apple who has full control over
both the hardware of the iOS device and the Airpods cannot achieve that what
seems to be normal behaviour for most other Bluetooth headsets.

Subject: Re: A Question to Anyone with the New AirPods 2, an Apple Watch Series
2 or Later and an iPhone

Hi,

Adding to Mark's question, if you have the new AirPods and you switch from an
iPhone to an iPad, or vice versa, do you still have to go to Bluetooth settings
to connect, or will it connect automatically?

Thanks,
Anna
