For iPhones, the keys for VO commands are control plus options, not the command key. The bottom row is control, function, options, command, spacebar, command, options, left arrow, down arrow then right arrow. You'll notice the up arrow is the top half of the down arrow, it is a split key. I gather you got it paired. So, to turn on practice mode, it is control plus options and k.
