Actually, since each earpiece operates independently ... with speaker and
microphone on each side ... both right and left have *both* a receiver and
transmitter built in. Like the new generation of airpods, Apple's H1 chip
provides the bluetooth (5.0) logic (receiver and transmitter),
synchronization,  power management and etc.
