Hello. In my humble experience on my iPhone 8 Plus running iOS 12.3, I haven't noticed a dramatic increase in battery drain from using a different equalizer setting. I have mine set to base booster, and this usually works quite well. My only real issue is that the volume of various songs are different, where some are loud and some soft. However, to fix this, I would need to turn on Sound Check in the music settings, and that would limit the max volume.
