I simply started using the rotor and swiping up several times. If nothing happened, then I would rotate again and try again. Finally I hit the volume and it went up enough that I could continue raising it and correct the things I had undone on the rotor.

SIRI is loud, but the system sounds and voice over are so low I can barely hear them, in fact, I cannot hear voice over at all. I tried doing a three finger double tap to turn speech on or off, but no volume there either. I have tried holding down the home key and raising the volume, but that did nothing.
