Hey all,
Here's some funny things to do with Siri and forget at least for a while
all the "iTunes' end" story.
Have fun!
Siri is Apple's personal assistant and is available on-demand to send
your text messages, look up movie times for you, and remind you of your
appointments. And like Alexa and Google Home, Siri has a personality, a
few Easter Eggs, and if you spend enough time with her, she's more than
willing to let you see her more "human side."
Before you venture out to have a little fun with Siri, you need to
understand the value of persistence when it comes to engaging Siri. She
can sometimes be a bit stubborn and refuse to play along. Keep trying
and eventually, Siri will come out to play, and surprise you with some
of her responses.
You can access Siri by holding the home button on your iPhone or iPad.
Here's a look at some of the best things to say to Siri, to get her to
open up, reveal some of her tricks and fun things she likes to do.
Siri's Stubborn Streak in Action
If you ask Siri questions about where to eat, she will immediately
present you with a list of local restaurants. But when you ask her to
read you a story, a poem, or a joke, she's quick to make up excuses. Ask
her again, and she can be equally aloof.
Siri and Her Movie-Star, Techy Friends
In addition to her working knowledge about her friends in Westworld,
2001 a Space Odyssey, and Inception (be sure to ask her). Find out what
happens when you ask Siri these questions:
Ask Siri if you can call her Jarvis from Ironman. It was heartbreaking
to tell her it was still just me.
Next, try telling Siri "I am Your father," and she'll respond with
something about the catwalk and the air shaft.
Read Siri A Few Lines
* Goodnight moon
* Who's the fairest of them all?
* Is there a Santa?
If You're Feeling Brave, Ask Siri To Tell You About the Future
* When will the world end?
* When will hell freeze over?
* When will robots take over the world?
* Are you going to take all of my money?
Ask Siri To Help You Decide
* What should I be for Halloween? Ask multiple times.
* What's the best pick-up line?
* What's the best watch?
* Give me an idea for an April Fool's prank
* Does this make me look fat?
* Blue pill or the red one?
* Which phone should I buy?
* Is winter coming?
* What should I wear today?
Get A Daily Pulse on the Universe
Every time you ask Siri "what are you doing" she'll give you a
different, totally random answer. At times, her answers are focused on
having fun, while other times, she seems exasperated and worn out, with
responses like, 'Oh, just answering more than 99,000 questions per minute."
You can also learn a little bit about current events by asking Siri what
she's up to:
Siri's Dark Side
Siri has some surprising hair-raising, and at times, spine-chilling
responses. She makes casual references to nimbostratus -- which is a
reference to a type of cloud. That's funny and expected. But after a
quick look outside, I felt a creepy feeling that I was being "watched"
as I realized that Siri's reference to nimbostratus reflected the exact
same type of dark gray, rain clouds that were hovering over me at that
exact moment.
Siri's Funny Tricks
Siri can play funny tricks on you too -- at random times. When asked if
she had any children, she logically responded, "Only biological entities
have children." And those were the words that she printed on my screen.
After a long pause, she added, "So far." But, she chose not to type
those words on the screen - and I felt myself wondering if she really
said that, or if I just imagined she said that, as the words hung in the
air.
Here are some other weird things to ask Siri,
* Do you follow the three laws of robotics?
* When are you going to take over the world?
* Do you have any pets?
* Talk to me, Siri
* What does your intuition tell you to do?
Be Specific When You Ask Siri To Tell You A Variety of Stories,
Jokes, Riddles and Poems
As noted in the example above, you must push Siri to tell you a story,
but Siri can differentiate between a scary story, a mystery story, a
serious story, and a funny story. You can also vary the type of story.
In addition to telling you a bedtime story, a silly story, and a mystery
story, she can also differentiate between a Haiku, a sonnet, a brain
teaser and a joke.
Discover the Answer to Life's Mysteries
Try asking Siri these silly questions:
* What is the sky blue?
* If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around, does it make a sound?
* Why are firetrucks red?
Ask Siri Some Personal Questions About Herself
Let's get beyond when she was born, October 4, 2011, and get down to
specifics:
What are you doing later?
* What did you do yesterday?
* What do you look like?
* What are you wearing?
* Siri, you're boring
* Siri, get lost
* What's your favorite music?
* How much do you cost?
* Can I borrow some money?
* How tall are you?
* Siri, can I call you "______"
* Do you love me?
* Siri, show me the money
* How old are you?
* Do you like green eggs and ham? Apparently, it goes with a nice dry
Chardonnay.
And Just for Kicks:
* Guess what?
* Flip a coin
* Can you dance?
* Can you see a little silhouette of a man?
* Tell Siri you're tired
* Start telling Siri, "it's a dark and stormy night," and she just
might give you a funny, unexpected response.
