Another tip for good phone performance is go into Settings, General, and Background App Refresh. Toggle all of the apps you don't want to run in the background to off. Also, go into Privacy and Location Services and disable GPS for all of the apps that don't need it. I try to do this every few months and have been able to have good battery performance on my iPhone 8 Plus.
