Of course it really only makes sense to set up a connection to a WiFi network if you also want to join said network in which case you need to be in range of the network. Why not set it up once when you are there, then your phone remembers the connection and will reconnect automatically the next time you are in range, problem solved. However, the option to manually enter the information (network name and password) is available on other devices and if it is available on the IPhone I would really prefer to use it in this specific instance.
