Hi Carolyn, First, I would plug in a set of earpods that came with your phone or something similar. I tried Bvuetooth headphones and Voiceover kept saying stop and I didn't want that in my recording. So, after you have done that, double tap on record, say your message, then double tap again. After you have played it and are satisfied, double tap on save. You will have to flick left to find the save button.
