A little more from the App Store: Sundial displays the sun and moon's rise/set cycle in a handy 24-hour ring. You can create iOS notifications for common events, including sunrise, solar noon, sunset, moonrise, lunar noon, lunar midnight, and moonset. Notification of full moon, new moon, first quarter moon, and last quarter moon is also supported. You can also create alerts for astronomical, nautical, and civil twilight start and end, including dawn and dusk.
Sundial is great for runners, hikers, campers, walkers, boaters, sailors, pilots, gardeners, farmers, photographers, film/tv production crew, astronomers, and travelers of all kinds. Parents, want a reminder that twilight is over and you need to get the kids inside? This is for you. Like to take your dog on a walk 30 minutes for sunset? Sundial has you covered. Sundial does not require an Internet connection to calculate rise & set times: GPS and built-in algorithms are used. You can enable one alert for free. Unlock unlimited alerts by making a one time in-app purchase of Sundial Premium. Premium has other neat features including options to synchronize your alerts to other devices using iCloud and disable screen lock when Sundial is active (use it is a clock on your desk). Includes a Today Widget for quick access on the iPhone and an Apple Watch app. The Apple Watch app includes several complications for 38mm, 40mm, 42mm, and 44mm watches. The iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch apps have voice over support for all features. Reported times switch between AM/PM and 12/24 notation based on your system settings. Sundial is a very useful app that gives you information of sun and moon rise and set among other things. You can set alerts for notification of sun rise and set so a blind person knows when it will be getting dark. I know that there are other apps that have similar functionality but what sets this one apart is that you can have an offset to your alerts. So for example you can configure the app to alert you a quarter of an hour after sunset. A sighted person would not necessarily turn their lights on at sunset as it would not generally be dark then. You could choose to be alerted at the start of civil twilight which would be a more sensible time to put the lights on and would save electricity too. Just a suggestion on how this flexible app can help us.
