I don't have an xr so I can't speak to all your issues, but we'll try to go look at one soon. This is just my 2 cents, but inorder to unlock your phone, face id, or a password to unlock your iphone is a nuisance. apple has done a great job in advertising that you need to use all this, and however, in certain situations this may be important. we don't use our devices for apple pay, nor do we store secure sensitive information, but If you do keep a lot of secure sensitive information on your phone, it might be of some importance. When it comes to protecting your phone, it's not important because if it got stolen you'd never see it again unless you got lucky.

I too recently bought a XR.Its workkin perfectly fine.
Just few small issues
1. The shortcut i.e triple click Power button for voice over is the
same for Emmergency SOS. Hence, I am having to turn off Emergency SOS.
Is this a bu?
2. I have upgraded from a IPhone 6. The XR seems too sensitive.
Specially switching repeatedly between portrait and landscape mode.
3. I find it difficult to locate the time, network etc. at the top of
the screen. In the 6, due to my partial eyesight I would locate the
same as the screen was bordered  by the iphone body.
4. Any tips for effectively using face ID.

No, I have a ten r and thankfully, I have not experienced any of that. I
have not heard of anyone else who has either, which doesn’t mean it’s not
happening. Maybe he’s just got a bum phone.
