The K780 is a bit on the heavy side because it is weighted so it doesn't
fall over if you put an iPad into the slot in the back which is designed
to hold a phone or iPad, but it would fit what you describe otherwise
perfectly. It is compact yet has basically full-sized keys and a number
pad, it has the inverted T cursor keys, but not the block of 6 keys above
that which you usually find on a full-size keyboard between the main
keyboard area and the numeric pad. It does have a full-sized numeric pad,
though.
I also use it as my main keyboard at home primarily with my laptop and
Jaws, but I have my iPhone paired to it and it can take up to three
devices.
Keep in mind two things, however:
1. The function keys have no gaps between F4 and F5 and F8 and F9
2. You have to install the Logitech Options software on your laptop if
you
want to use the function keys the traditional way, otherwise you have to
press the FN keys, e.g. Jaws Key + F12 would not give you the time unless
you also pressed the FN key at the same time. Once Logitech Options is
installed it's a fairly simple thing to press tab until you hear "Use
F1 -
F12 as standard function keys" and to check that checkbox. Once done you
don't really ever need to use it again, but you can't uninstall it or
your
function keys go back to being media keys.
Lastly, there is only one Windows Key and no application key.
If you want a very traditional keyboard with enhanced 104 key layout, 2
Windows keys, an application key and media controls as well as the
ability
to handle a PC and one Bluetooth capable device you could go for the
Logitech G613 mechanical wireless gaming keyboard. But it is a relatively
heavy, quite large mechanical keyboard and while fantastic to type on, it
is probably not something you want to stick into your little backpack to
bring along.
The K780 once setup with Logitech Options/regular function key use is a
really nice keyboard to type on, very quiet and very good despite it's
few
limitations. You will most likely need sighted help to install the
software, the installer is not very accessible, if you want to try
yourself remember to only press Shift + Tab once the installer has
loaded,
if you press tab you are a goner.

Sieghard

Subject: Re: Best choice for a bluetooth keyboard
I'm using the Logitech K780. I just purchased it yesterday. look up some
reviews on Amazon to get a better idea of what it offers and such.
has a numpad as well. it is a little expensive but seems like a great
keyboard overall, and it also includes a dongle in case you wish to use
it
via usb. we'll see how good it turns out to be.

Hi,
I have been considering getting a bluetooth keyboard for a while to
pair with my IPhone 8 just to make typing a bit easier/faster.
Now the usb keyboard I use for my windows pc is starting to fail, so I
think the best solution would be to get a bluetooth keyboard I can use
for both the IPhone and one or more computers.
I have seen discussions about various logitech keyboards and am
wondering which would be the best. I do need a numberpad since I use
JAWS on the windows systems.
I would also like something that is fairly lightweight since I will be
doing some travelling this fall.
