With a braille display, the best way to do text replacement is to write 
whatever you want in grade 2 Braille, then go back to the top of the document 
and put your output and input modes into 8-dot braille.  You'll be reading your 
text in grade 1 braille, and when you find an error that needs correcting or 
text you wish to replace you can freely move the cursor to that part of your 
document.  I'm using a BrailleEdge by Hims.  But I suspect this will work with 
just about any braille device.  Hope this helps.
