Anybody who gets a connected smart thermostat who is concerned about the
thermostat not working could always ask the installer who is usually needed to
install such a device to also install an old-fashioned mechanical thermostat
next to it. Under normal circumstances just keep the lever all the way to one
side so the heat would never come on, but if for some reason your internet is
down or you can't use the smart thermostat you have an easy work-around, just
push the lever of your mechanical thermostat to the right (most of them make it
warmer the further to the right you go) and you are done. You could even get
somebody to make a tactile marking at what you consider a comfortable
temperature like 21 Celsius. Tone of these costs maybe $15 or $20 at most and
it would take an installer an extra 5 minutes to hook it up.

Subject: Talking thermostat.

You can also look up the standalone VIP 3000 thermostat and see if they have it
on Amazon.

Also check and see if they have ones controlled using the Internet. Also, goes
if internet down you could use Be My Eyes or use FaceTime so there’s always
work around as you guys are well aware of.
