I know this is an off topic message, so hope there is no problem with
that. Some groups are more strict than others.
Anyway, I have a Focus 14 Braille display, purchased new at the
beginning of last year. I don't know how long warrantee usually lasts on
these, but I think I probably just missed it. Anyway, some of the dots
started sticking. I tried rubbing alcohol, the cleaning mode on the
device, and nothing worked, so I opened it up to see if I could figure
out why. No luck solving the problem, but what I was able to do was move
some of the failing modules to the right, where they would cause less
problems. Anyway, there are two modules failing. I really can't afford
to send this in for repair. Knowing how much the display costs, I can
only imagine that repairs would also cost an arm and a leg. I bought the
display with inheritance money, but that's long gone.
So, I was wondering if anyone has one that is not working, which could
be used for parts, or perhaps knows where I can get the modules. I've
opened this thing up enough that I know how to take out and install the
modules. Why send it in for repairs when I can just as easily do it,
given the right parts?
So, if anyone has what I need, or knows where I can get them, please
contact me off list and we can do business.
Thanks,
Justin
