I have had my ipad mini for a few months now and find it is just the rite size and yes it is very portible and love the batter life. The iPad Mini 2019 is a very nice unit. I got my wife one for her birthday in June. I have no idea if Apple will come out with something different next Spring. There is also the new iPad 7 that is 10.2 inches diagonal, which costs less than the iPad Mini 2019. My wife prefers the Mini because of its portability.
