Firstly, there is no such phone as a 5 SE.
The SE has no number, but if it did it would have been probably 6 since it came
out after the 6s.
It confuses the issue to refer to the SE as a 5 SE, since then people cannot be
sure if you have a 5s, or an SE.
Assuming it is the SE, do you use touch typing, or do you have to double tap on
a number to enter it to make a call or dealing with a menu?
I use touch typing, so when I touch a number, it is spoken, then when I lift my
finger it is spoken again and entered.
The second time, the speech is a little higher pitch.
It works for me the same on menus or when first entering the number to call.
At least I think it does.
I have not had to deal with the press a number for places I call regularly
because I have programmed the sequence into the phone number.

I am using an iPhone 5 SE and IOS 12.4 and VoiceOver.

When making a call, I am used, when touching numbers on the phone keypad that
the number is spoken and that, when I choose a number and tap, the number is
spoken again.

Now this only happens when I am using a menu on a call I have already made. But
it doesn't work that way when I am keying in a phone number.

I have no idea what I might have inadvertently done to bring about this change,
or how to change it back.

Any help would be appreciated.
