thanks for the tip. You'd think that as expensive as AirPods are, an issue like this wouldn't occur. As of this writing, I think they're a 100 percent. When only the left AirPod works, I'm in serious trouble because of the distortion in my left ear due to sudden hearing loss several years ago.
