Here is an example of how it was useful last night. I woke up at 5AM, which is pretty standard for me. I checked my phone for email, but noticed there was a notification from the phone app. I checked, and there was no VoiceMail, but there was a recent call from an unknown caller at 11:38 PM last night. It is a function that you can turn on or off fairly easily. So, when you are not expecting a delivery, you could turn it on. That is of course up to you.
