You can’t use gold by just playing the computer players. The gold is used when you play an actual opponent. If when playing an opponent and you have bonus rolls enabled for that game, it gives you an extra roll. So say you are playing Yahtzee, you normally get 3 rolls before your turn is over. With Bonus Rolls, it gives you 4 rolls which helps if you are trying to accomplish a particular scoring spot on the board. I hope this makes sense.
