Hi, give this a shot. Open the Phone app, contacts and locate the contact that you wish to delete. Open the contact, activate edit and then move your focus to the very bottom left corner where you have the favorites tab, do not double tap it, flick left from there. You should have delete contact.
If you do not have the delete contact option, you may have other contact services enabled like Facebook where you cannot delete those contacts.
