Hello R, A buddy of mine, who is not a list member, reported this behavior to me before I updated to iOS13; however, I have not yet encountered it.
Just so you know, I am using the Samantha Enhanced, TTS. Perhaps that could be making a difference? I don't know. I'll tell you one more thing to watch out for with regard to audio book playback in Apple Books, BARD, and Over Drive, in iOS 13.x. When resuming playback, you may not be at the exact same location in the book that you were when you stopped playback. So far, I have not noticed this behavior in Audible for iOS. I have now noticed that in the BARD app, VoiceOver says “space” after any button I press. This is even true if I am playing and pausing from the button on my Bluetooth earphones.
