Hello,

The easiest and best way to delete several thousand messages in the Gmail
app is to do it from the web interface. Navigate to gmail.com, use the
standard mode, make sure that you are in forms mode or focus mode, and
press *a (asterisk a) to select all visible emails. Then, press , (comma)
to get to the toolbar, and tab to select all or whatever the announcement
says. Then, press # (pound) to delete. If asked, confirm that you wish to
delete. You can also press e to archive. While I know that this is not
through the Gmail app, it is by far the best and easiest way to go about
this.
