I am weary from trying to configure Messages settings to do what I want and not any more. I like to have the Messages icon display the number of new messages on the dock (where I keep Messages on my iPhone 8). But I do not want the iPhone going on and on when I get a new message. I simply want the app icon to display the number of unread messages with no additional jabbering. How do I do this in iOS 13.*****?
