Since IOS V13. most sounds are routing through my hearing aids including Voice Over VO, phone calls, audio books, music, but not the screen clicks beeps and other audio accessibility cues or what refer to as "earCons." These earcons are very helpful in providing navigation and icon status information to those of us who are blind and who rely on VO to access our phones. I have an iPhone Xr. I went to my Audiologist yesterday and explained to her what was going on with the IOS update and she got the tech staff from Oticon on the phone and I explained to them the issue I was having with V13.2. They put us on hold for a few minutes to check with the Bluetooth team. When they came back on the line, they shared with us that this is an issue that only Apple can resolve. They explained that Apple decides what can be played through the hearing aids. Now typically I would be quite skeptical of such an answer thinking they were just passing the buck. However, I believe them because I have heard from numerous people who are blind that wear hearing aids from many different manufactures having the exact same experience as I described. Thus, the ball is in your court to address this huge issue. I can no longer do anything on my iPhone without others around knowing that I am accessing my phone. Yes, I could turn those sounds off, however, I need those earcons to help me do what I do on my phone efficiently. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
