That is not exactly what Apple says now which is why they have introduced the feature where your phone doesn't charge all the way to 100% over night, if you set an alarm I think it uses that to determine when to charge the last 20% so that it is not sitting at 100% for an unnecessarily long time. But having said this, I only ever set an alarm if I have to get up really early like 5 or so to catch a flight, otherwise I always wake up around 6:30 or 7 AM which is fine for me and if I plug in my phone in the evening and, for example, check if I wake up around 2 or 3 AM it's always 100% charged already. I don't pay too much attention about charging, I know I usually keep my phone for 3 or 4 years and typically 3 years is no problem, if I keep it for 4 I would probably get the battery replaced after 2 to 3 years anyways to make sure I get the most out of it.

For me it's a pain to wake my phone just to check if the battery level is still ok.Many times in the evening the level seems to be ok just to find the next morning that the battery is flat. I have an old Samsung phone and it is so nice to get an audible notification that the battery is low. Is there any Apple app that does just that?
