Hi Kevin, While the original SIRI voice was done from voice samples, it is my understanding that the new SIRI voice is a fully synthetic voice. In any case, if you ever listen to that article/interview with the lady who did the SIRI voice you’ll understand why Apple could never just take somebody’s voice and make it into a TTS, it took months and months and her reading millions of lines of text which Apple engineers then had to break down into these tiny pieces for this voice to be developed. Maybe somebody can provide the link although I am sure if you Google “How was the SIRI voice made” you may find it. I have to go to work in 2 minutes so I don’t have time to find it right now.
