There is no easy way. You turn the rotor to messages and flick down to hear the next message. But in iOS 13, sometimes you have to turn the rotor again to messages and swipe down because the rotor switches back to action. If it ends up being more trouble than it is worth, try just turning off Organize by Thread under the mail settings. HTH,
