How do you get read-outs? Does Voiceover speak the weight as you add it or do you have to interact with the scale? For me any scale which would require me to do anything to hear the weight would be out. I enjoy baking a fair bit and since I am German I like to bake German cakes and pastries and almost all recipes require ingredients to be weighed, e.g. the recipe will ask for 300 grams of flour, 150 grams of sugar, 100 grams of butter etc. This is much more precise than if the recipes asks for 2 cups of flour and 1 cup of sugar or whatever and the My Weigh talking scale speaks the weight as I add ingredients into the bowl. You have to stop for a couple of seconds and let it settle, but it’s quite quick and easy and I certainly don’t want to touch my phone or ask SIRI first before finding out how much is on the scale.

The drop scales are more sturdy/resistant about that sort of thing, but I’ve been known to have off aim every blue moon and baggies help to protect against this and makes for easy clean up. I bought it back in March of 2018. Replaced the battery which cost me less than $5 in Spring of this year. I think there were one or maybe two iOS updates in this time which for me messed with Vos ability to announce weight in real time, but those were quickly acknowledged by staff and fixed. I believe there were one or two more models also mentioned for kitchen scale purposes, but for me at least, the drop scale has so far worked like a champ. I’ve had no need to look for a replacement device.
