Jenny, I'm a flutist also. Don't get discouraged, it'll get easier pretty quickly. The smart metronome app is excellent. You might also want to look at talking tuner which will, when you play a note, tell you how sharp or flat the note is. I've found that app helpful also. God bless! Paula and Garçon
