And, do not start talking about things not relevant to the subject line in a message.
I think a lot of new people, and some old, have fallen into the trap of hitting reply and either talking about something completely unrelated to the subject line; or simply edited the subject line after hitting reply; which ends up mixing those messages in with the original subject thread. For those who use threading, it means either that they have to wade through a bunch of unrelated messages or they just delete the thread because the subject isn’t one they are interested in and will then miss those messages that are on new topics but still stuck in that original thread. I’m not going to call out anyone or any thread in particular, but please just think about what you want to say, and if it doesn’t relate to the subject line, create a new message rather than just hitting reply and editing the subject.
