Google maps is my go-to GPS app. The interface for VoiceOver users is much better than Apple Maps, in my opinion. You can do what amounts to a virtual walk-through of the route before you get on the road. You can have it show you the steps if you want, or you can just start the navigation. It just keeps getting better with each update. If you want one that is more geared for the blind, you may want to take a look at Nearby Explorer Online. It is a bit funky to use, but has a lot of functions you can turn on or off, but for simplicity and accuracy, I always go back to Google Maps.
