Hello Max, Generally speaking, I think you get a better result when you restore a device from the computer backup.
Again, this is just my opinion but I can tell you that, while I have certainly restored devices from an iCloud backup, to get a truly fresh copy of the OS on the phone, restoring from a computer would be the way to go. Were I you, I would probably perform a clean install on the iPhone, first, setting it up as a new device. This insures that you remove any disk fragmentation and/or corrupted file / file tables. Next, I would use the restore feature, from the computer, to quickly install app and/or app settings. I strongly recommend that you make both an iCloud backup and a computer backup before you refresh the phone. Again, this is just my opinion. Don't be afraid to use Google in order to assist you in this process.
