I'm with Chuck about spending the necessary learning and practice time with FlickType. I use it in portrait mode with only an index finger but I can type significantly faster with it.

Hello, I use the FlickType keyboard about 99% of the time. Usually, the only time I use the iOS keyboard is when I am using financial apps, because I prefer the number keyboard and I have to enter a lot of abbreviations. I tried the slide to type keyboard. With practice I am sure I could get faster, however this keyboard I can only type with one finger at a time, but with the flicktype keyboard I hold my iPhone in landscape mode between my hands and type with my thumbs. I can actually type faster this way than on a physical keyboard. That being said, I feel I should admit that I am terrible at typing and spelling.😎 For those having trouble with FlickType I highly suggest that you read the user guide.
