James, I don't think fast charging has much of an impact on battery life, but Apple uses a different fast charging standard than most others. Carolyn recently upgraded from the original SE to an iPhone 11, if you plan to upgrade in a few months when the SE 2 or whatever they will call it has been released, it will definitely be compatible with wireless charging. I would highly recommend whatever that new SE will be over the now over 2-year old iPhone 8, it will be much the same form factor, but most likely it will have the latest A13 chip or at least it will have the A12 and it will be more future proof than the iPhone 8 and most likely it will also have better battery life.
