On the whole, Microsoft has done a very good job making their apps
accessible. I've had some issues such as being mysteriously tossed out of
Excel when I've tried to use it. I took a pretty good look at the Microsoft
Office apps around two years ago so things have doubtless improved since
then. You should definitely try them out as they're all free on iOS anyway.

I've long ago found alternatives for what I need. I do use Skype regularly
and it works very well. Also, I was particularly impressed with the
Microsoft To Do app. It integrates with the Outlook calendar so that might
be a big advantage for you. I've gravitated to using the Reminders app as
well as Fantastical to keep track of things. For writing, I use Ulysses.
There are many different writing alternatives. Pages isn't too bad. I might
have stuck with it had it been as accessible as it is now from day one.
Take the time to try things out and see what you like. We have an
abundances of accessible choices in iOS. I hope to have my guide published
at the end of April where I go over a lot of these in some detail.
