It used to be the case that T-Mobile was GSM and Verizon was CDMA, but with the move to 4G, this no longer an issue.

Yes, you should be able to use your same pass code if you want.  Just make sure 
Verizon unlocks your phone and stuff from their end if it is locked so that t 
mobile can set it up for their carrier.  I do not know if Verizon is compatible 
with tmobile.
