Hi, If you go to the top of the screen, you can double tap on the calendars button. Flick right until you get to the Facebook section and find the Facebook events and Facebook birthdays and double tap both of them to turn them off.
When you want them back, repeat the procedure as, double tapping on these calendars is a toggle.
