Hi I do not know of any beginner books for Facebook and IPhone but do have a couple of suggestions for your immediate problem.
If you have to compose the post, I recommend that you compose it on your computer and then email it to yourself providing that you have your mail app set up. Then copy and paste the post to your wall by creating a new post. If the information is already on the web, double tap the "more" button to find the share button. The share button may appear on the menu or tab on Safari. Double tap the share button and if you are using the Facebook app on your phone, it should appear in the list of options of which you can share. I hope this helps.
