Hello Barbara, You ask an excellent question.
This is just a guess but I suspect that when you activate the attachment, in order to first download it to your device, the file is being stored in a temporary location on your local device. All things being equal, I would wager that this area is not directly accessible via the standard user interface. When you open the attachment, you should have an option to save it to a specific location or in its default app location if no specific location is offered. I suspect that the temporary file will remain on your device until you either delete the attachment from the email or until you delete the specific email, itself, from your email client. Again, this is just a guess, on my part. I have a question about downloads and the native email app. When someone sends me an email with an attachment, I have to click download first, then I can double tap the attachment and it will open. Does anyone know where the app is putting the downloaded file? Is it in my phone's storage somewhere, If so how do I access it? Or are they just downloading on the email server or something? OK thanks in advance -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
