I think the formal name are "google hangouts" it used to be an ala carte free service, now primarily available via their corporate Gsuite and/or their Google Classroom experience. I haven't used it myself in some years, my younger son is now using it via school (they had disabled Hangouts, until the mandatory "stay at home" orders).
