Yes. You also need a local library card to a public library I believe. This is the way local libraries are distributing their books electronically. I do not believe their eBooks are accessible, but the audio books are. Depending on your library, you check them out for up to 21 dyas and then they disappear and if you are not finished, you can put a hold on it and when it becomes available again, you will be notified and can download it then. I am just trying to get it to work myself. And while I got a book checked out downloading it hasn't gone smoothly.
