Hi Kevin, I am typing this email on my K780 which I have had for probably 2 years now. First of all, I would highly recommend you use the K780 with your laptop via the included USB dongle. It is located inside the battery compartment and you will get a much more responsive experience compared to pairing it to a PC via Bluetooth. You can still put it on F1 using the USB dongle and then set it up on F2 for your iPhone using Bluetooth. I have mine also paired to my Apple TV since you can connect up to 3 devices.
As for the function keys there is only 1 way to achieve what you want to do and that is by installing the Logitech Options software. Unfortunately the installation is not very accessible and if you want to do yourself a favour just ask for sighted help, it will take a sighted person who knows how to click with a mouse about 1 minute or less. Once installed, look for th efollowing checkbox and make sure it’s checked: Use F1 - F12 as standard function keys Once done you don’t have to worry about it any more, just don’t uninstall Logitech Options or it will go back to what it is now. Also, once you have that checkbox checked, if you want to switch from your PC to the iPhone you have to press FN + F2 (or whatever position you put it on) because in a Windows environment the function keys F1, F2 and F3 will otherwise just do what they normally do, e.g. F1 will bring up Help, F2 will rename a file if you are in File Explorer or, if in a program it may do nothing or something else and F3 will also do nothing or bring up Jaws search if you use Jaws. If you have your PC on F1 and your iPhone on F2 and you are using it with your iPhone you only have to press F1 to go back to your PC because under iOS the FN key doesn’t matter. Lastly, once the function keys do what they normally do, you need to press FN + F10 if you want to mute/unmute the speaker, FN + F11 for lowering the volume and FN + F12 to raise the volume. Print screen is FN + Delete, that is the very last key on the right, 2 after F12, the one after F12 brings up the Windows search box. Hi. It took some time to get it working, and don’t ask me what I did, but my iPhone and PC are paired. And the Best Buy person I talked to said it couldn’t be done. I’m almost completely happy, except for one thing. Is there a way to make things so the modifier key has to be hit to switch devices in combination with the function keys? Reason I ask is I have to hit that plus a function key on the PC to do things, and it can get tedious. If not, no problem. I’ll just get used to it. Thanks for the help.
