I checked with Verizon it doesn’t matter and it shouldn’t for at&t either.
From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Richard Turner Sent: Friday, April 24, 2020 3:26 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Update on SIM card question I spoke with Xfinity since they are my carrier, and the reason to get a new SIM card rather than sticking with the old one, is that at least for Xfinity, they would not know what the new phone is because the SIM card ID would say it was the first generation SE since that is what I have. They are sending me a new SIM card. I can go ahead and use my current SIM card until the new one arrives and then I will replace it with the new SIM card. I will then call them from either my wife’s phone or our landline and they will activate the new SIM. Before anyone asks, Xfinity was not a choice when ordering the phone so I got the no SIM phone. The moral of the story is, use the old SIM card, but check with your carrier to see if it matters.
