Hi.

First, I'm sending this out as a new message because I can't find the one
from the person who asked about this.

You can hook an Apple TV up to a regular TV or stereo, but you need extra
equipment to do this. Tiger Direct sells a device that converts HDMI to
composite, which is two RCA plugs for audio and one for video. It costs
$60, and it works great. To get it go to

http://tigerdirect.com

There's a toll free number you can call to order it.

If your TV doesn't have composite connectors on it you can still get this to
work. You'll need a composite to coax connector. This converts the RCA
plugs into the plug that screws onto a TV where you'd connect cable to your
TV. Radio Shack sells this for $28.

I purchased these so I could hook my Apple TV to a television set of my Dad
and Stepmother when I visit them. If you're going to go this route I'd
strongly consider buying a flat screen TV. I don't know if the cheaper ones
have HDMI on them or not, but with the devices I mentioned you're getting
close to the cost of a small flat screen TV.

Just my thoughts. Happy White Cane Awareness Day!

GO TIGERS!
