Hello Fanus,

A subscription is not required to purchase either individual songs or entire
albums from Amazon.com

I find that the prices of individual titles are identical to iTunes. Album
prices are usually comparable, also.

To be clear, I download my music via Internet Explorer version 11, on a Windows
7 32-bit PC.

I think Amazon offers some kind of desktop music download app but I found it
extremely difficult to use with Jaws; however, this was some years ago and the
desktop app may have improved since then.

When it is all said and done, while I purchase all of my music from Amazon.com,
I manage that content in iTunes for Windows.

Mark

Hello Mark
Wow, Thanks for this. Can one just go to amazon and search for the album or
does one have to be subscribed to their music service before one can make
purchases? How do their prices compare with that of apple?
Regards
Fanus

Hello Richard, Fanus, and Everyone,

Richard, I love your phrase, “tagging hell.” That is exactly how I view the
purchasing of iTunes music.

Earlier today, I decided to buy a new album. For less than a nanno-second I
considered purchasing it from iTunes, then I remembered all of the problems I
have encountered, en the past, after having done so; some that you described
very eloquently, Richard, and some even more daunting issues, that continue to
occur, with those long ago purchased tracks.

I only purchase music from Amazon, via my web browser, on my Windows PC.

The process is simple, straight-forward, and fast.

For example, when purchasing an album on my PC, the broad strokes are:

1.
Go to Amazon.com and find the album. Select the album to display the various
formats, MP3, CD, Vinyl, etc. Along with each format, you will see the
purchase price.

2.
Select your format.

3.
Purchase the Album.

4.
Select Download purchase. The album will be downloaded to your PC in a Zip
file.

5.
Unzip the file and you will see all of the album titles.

Now here is what I do to get my newly purchased album into iTunes; again the
broad strokes, only.

6.
Open iTunes for Windows.

7.
Add all of the album titles to my iTunes Library, simultaneously.

8.
Select all of the newly purchased album titles and select New Playlist.

9.
Give the Playlist the same name of the Album.

10.
Sync the new playlist to my iOS device.

Again, just the broad strokes but, all things being equal, given that I’ve been
using this method for about 7 years or so, it takes me less than 15 minutes to
go from purchase to syncing songs to my iOS device.

Mark

Welcome to the tagging hell that is classical music, as well as others, but
classical is the worst.
Since the internal tags of classical music often has different artists on some
tracks, or different conductors, orchestras, etc., it gets crazy making.
But, look for a folder called Compilations.
Most of the time, these albums are marked as compilations so they will show up
by either the album name, or conductor.
The tracks will also be scattered into different subfolders, but at least in
the compilations folder they should be all together.

Hello list
Even though I am subscribed to apple music I sometimes buy albums via itunes on
my pc. Especially when it comes to classical music itunes saves the albums in
the stranges places in the itunes music folder, sometimes under the album name,
sometimes under the composer, sometimes even under the name of one of the
artists. This also happens when I download music on my iPod in the music app.
This morning I purchased an opera via iTunes and now I can not find where
itunes stored it. A search in Windows 10 does not show any results. Does anyone
know how I can trace the album?

Fanus
